Matthew felt a pang of disappointment as he observed the distance between them.

“Your plan is excellent, but Matthew’s wife won’t be able to attend.”
“Why?” Stella inquired instinctively.

Neville set the tablet PC aside and glanced at Matthew.
“Matthew’s wife is dedicated to her career. She hasn’t been in Seamarsh for an extended period, so she genuinely can’t make it.”

“Me?” Stella was taken aback by the suggestion. Her hand, which was holding her glass of water, trembled, spilling the contents over Matthew’s attire.
